Information & Assignment Materials for Unit 2:

REMINDERS:

  1. Reading assignments are no longer due each class period — They are due the day of the Unit 2 Exam (see calendar above)
  2. There will still be reading quizzes each class period and therefore you need to be keeping up on the reading to do well on those assignments
  3. On the assignments you no longer need to always incorporate ID Terms in your answers (though most of the questions lend themselves to include them depending on the question)
    1. There will be an Identification Quiz at the end of the Unit. This is both to see if you are learning the IDs and to aid in you in studying for the Unit 2 Exam.

    • Pros and Cons (effective or ineffective aspects) of the Articles
    • Articles of Confederation Worksheet
      • Outlining whether facts about the Articles were pros or cons
      • Matching the Pros and Cons to the Justifications or reasons they prove are a pro or con
  • United States Constitution Worksheet
    • Lists the major concerns many delegates at the Constitutional Convention had that were debated about at the convention and the underlining fears behind these debates
    • You job is to explain where these fears came from and which groups had those fears (Example: small states being frightened of larger states due to not being represented and being overwhelmed economically)
    • Then in the third column explain what the Delegates included in the Constitution (compromises) to solve many of these concerns

  • Short Answer Questions Practice
    • Looked at Sample Responses to the 2015 AP Exam Short Answer Question 2
    • In partners, students graded the responses and see what score they would give them
    • Then read the AP board/grader’s score and why they gave them that score
    • Discussion about how these questions are graded and what is expected
  • Students then took their responses to Short Answer Question Practice: Period 3 and gave themselves a score based on what we learned
    • Turned-in to the basket
